The evolution of Dream School Foundation ensued with the coming together of few like minded individuals to ensure the child’s right to equity and quality in education. The volunteering team that formalized the organization strongly believes in people’s involvement in the matter of education. DSF now has a committed team of active volunteers as well as trained full time ngo personnel and teachers to supplement and complement the process of education at the school and our centres.
Maitreyee Kumar
Founding Member, Executive Director
Maitreyee started her career as software professional and worked with multinational software development firms in India and abroad for 8 years before she made a shift towards social development. Her desire for social change and interest in child development urged her to join CRY (Child Rights and You). She worked with CRY in the resource generation and volunteer management divisions for nearly a decade and was instrumental in setting up and coordinating the Volunteer Action division. Educated at Pune University (Masters in Computer Science), Maitreyee provides leadership and direction to the organisation and is primarily responsible for the overall management and administration of the organisation.
Sabu Joseph
Founding Member, Director Strategy & Partnerships
Prior to initiation of DSF, Sabu worked with Centre for Environment Education (CEE), in Bangalore where he initiated and managed projects in Environment and Sustainable Development. He taught Social work and management in IIRM, MATS school of management and was visiting faculty in many management institutions and organisations. His interest lies in training and development and has conducted various programmes in corporate, academic and NGO settings. Sabu currently consults with global organisations on sustainability and enterprise transformation.
He provides vision and direction to DSF and is responsible for strategic planning and partnerships. He holds a Masters in Social Work and also a recipient of Common wealth Secretariat scholarship on Environment Education (TEE).
Girija B.R
Girija is a software engineer and has worked in reputed IT companies with a long stint of 14 years at HP. As a PMP certified professional, she has managed large projects and has participated in various quality (ISO, SEI CMMi) initiatives of the company. After about 19 years in the Software industry, she decided to pursue her passion for teaching. She started her journey with DSF as a volunteer to teach Science and Math. Over the period she has taken responsibility of managing DSF's learning level Enhancement programmes at schools and centres. She is the lead for the Ten Plus as well as mentoring programmes.
Bhama Govindarajan
Bhama is an M.E. in Computer Science from IISc Bangalore in 1990, and an MS in Computer Science from McGill University Canada, in 1992. She has been working as a software consultant/engineer for various IT companies. She has a passion for pure sciences, especially physics and mathematics. She started a science club for children at IISc in 1999 to help them discover, experience and enjoy science. She joined DSF with an aim to spread her passion and energy to the science learning of the underprivileged children.
Sagayaraj
Sagayaraj has many years of experience in Community Based Rehabilitation for persons with disability. He is passionate to contribute for the development of inclusive society where every human life is valued with special focus on marginalized groups. He coordinates our HeadStart programme and contributes to the holistic school development programme in the govt. interface & community participation initiatives. He is also responsible for the technical support required for our computer aided and audio visual programmes apart from executing administration and accounts responsibilities of the organization.
Meena E S
Meena is a Post Graduate in Management, with experience in customer support and human resources. She is currently working with DSF as Manager- Programmes. She enjoys working with children and has a desire to contribute towards equity in education for all.
Sharmeela Prakasham
A Graduate in Commerce from Bangalore University, Sharmeela has over 18 years’ experience handling corporate Travel across the world for Multinational Companies. After a successful stint with the corporate world, she joined WEConnect, a US based NGO as a Senior Consultant. She currently leads the TenPlus programme at DSF.
Bhagya PR
The Educational facilitators are the field level people who implement our programmes at schools, centres and communities. They work as social workers, handle parent & teacher interaction at the schools and the community settings.
